

I haven't seen any improvement with this but =false might help if you run your Java app in your local environment (I think). You should use alternative approaches like x2go or vnc. But if you have fast enough connection, you don't need to have this option.Īs you probably know, X11 over ssh on a slow network is generally poor. In this case, adding =false will greatly improve and I don't see much difference between Mac's X11 and Ubuntu's in terms of performance including scrolling. With a low-speed internet connection (let's say ~Mbps or less), I observe slow performance.So if did the defaults command once you shouldn't need to do it again nor have the xrender option when you launch your app. In this case, I still need to do =false when I launch my Java app. If I haven't done defaults write 11 enable_render_extension 0 in my local Mac, the issue still persists.
